  • Doctor Adam Berman

    Dr. Adam Berman was raised in North Carolina and has always had a passion for animals. He received his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Animal Science from North Carolina State University in 2004. He then went on to receive his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Caroline State University in 2010.

    Dr. Berman has practiced in the Charlotte area since 2010 at several hospitals including TotalBond Veterinary Hospitals and Dilworth Animal Hospital.

    He is thrilled to be fulfilling his dream of founding his own practice with the opening of Quail Hollow Veterinary Hospital in 2015.

    Dr. Berman's clinical interests include wellness and preventive medicine, clinical nutrition, and dermatology. He is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association. In his spare time, Dr. Berman enjoys family time with his lovely wife Ivy and their young daughter and son. His four-legged companions include two rescued Labrador retrievers (Sophie and Emma).

  • Doctor Austin Whitlark

    Dr. Austin Whitlark graduated from NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. Whitlark completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in 2012 and entered General practice as an Associate Veterinarian at Dilworth Animal Hospital. She developed a love and respect for animals as a young girl growing up in Charlotte.  She graduated from Vance High School where she swam and played lacrosse, volunteered extensively at the Carolina Raptor Center and hiked most weekends at Crowders Mountain. 

    As an undergraduate at NC State she coached and played lacrosse, volunteered at the Wake County Animal Shelter and Piedmont Wildlife Center, played leadership roles in the Student Alumni Association and Scholar's Council and was selected as the student commencement speaker at the 2005 graduation.

    In veterinary school Dr. Whitlark traveled to Honduras, rural North Carolina and The Cherokee Nation to provide volunteer veterinary care.  She also led the Turtle Rescue Team (see her photo on the homepage! and started a service organization for future students.

    Her professional interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology, surgery, exotics and geriatric care.  At home she likes to hike with her family, run, garden, swim, play with her daughter, rescued dogs Dakota and Layla and cuddle her rescued cat Moose.

  • Doctor Matt Ritter, Board Certified Veterinary Surgeon (ACVS)

    Dr. Matt Ritter attended Iowa State University where he received his undergraduate degree in Zoology. He then continued on at Iowa State University where he graduated with his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Ritter completed an internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and a residency in surgery at Michigan State University.

    Dr. Ritter became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in January 2007 (Dipl. ACVS). Dr. Ritter owns Acacia Mobile Veterinary Surgery and provides assistance to our veterinary team with advanced surgical cases.
